Recycling

Late in 2003 Dreamsafe began recycling mattresses in an effort to keep an estimated 500,000 Victorian mattresses out of land fill each year. Working out of it's warehouse in 14-18 Mills St Cheltenham Victoria, Dreamsafe have already recycled over 600,000 (updated 23/03/10) mattresses and bases and should exceed 700,000 nationally by the end of 2010. Considering each mattress uses .7 of a cubic meter of space, that would mean we've diverted 490,000 cubic meters from land fill.

What is recycled? Wood, foam, wadding, springs and some fabrics. In the near future Dreamsafe hope to be even recycling the coconut fibers found in most old mattresses.

If you have second hand mattresses and need to get rid of them send us an email about what you've got, where they are and your contact details. info@dreamsafe.com.au (charges do apply)
